In a break from her traditional zodiac-specific styles, jewelry designer Deirdre Hanrahan of WYS (formerly What’s Your Sign? Jewelry) has unveiled the Floating Diamonds collection.
The colorless diamonds are loose, bezel set, and sandwiched between see-through sapphire crystals in 14k and 18k white, yellow, and rose gold, with celestial motifs like stars and moons in addition to hearts. To date, there are seven pendant necklaces (perhaps the best style to view the motion) some with deep-blue sandstone backdrops—and every style has diamonds. Come fall, expect more styles and motifs as well as gemstone options. Retail prices to date are $1,275–$4,400.
“My inspiration is the whole aspect of movement, and of stars, in particular,” Hanrahan recently told the press. “Stars are a signature element in my collection, and movement brings fun to a piece of beautiful jewelry. Our pendants represent the energetic force of our constantly changing world and our individual evolution within it.”
