I’ve long felt like I am missing something when it comes to the craze over handbags. If I had my way, every outfit would have sufficient pockets for the few things I need to carry on a daily basis—phone, ID, lipstick, and maybe a sour candy or two.
Throw in a handbag and I’ve got a recipe for making my bad posture even worse. Oh, the things I’d put in there! Snacks, a water bottle, car keys, deodorant, hand lotion, an assortment of hair ties, tissues, extra earrings…wait a minute, maybe I do need a handbag.
As a status symbol, I get it. Much like a luxury watch or a noticeable piece of jewelry, a handbag can signal financial status or superb taste in goods. Both are certainly true if the bag is a Cartier clutch. But do you know what’s even better than that amazing clutch? An entire jewelry line inspired by it. Enter Wyld Box’s Ray of Light.
“I came across the vintage Cartier clutch the same way many of my inspirations find me—unexpectedly, almost like a whisper from another era,” brand founder Rosanna Fiedler tells JCK. “I discovered it during one of my regular hunts for vintage treasures—pieces with a soul, history, and attitude.
“The moment I held it, I felt the weight of its past lives, its elegance, its quiet confidence. It became one of those talismans that stays with you, reminding you why you create. And yes, I now own it.”

“Wyld Box has deep vintage roots, and I’ve always been drawn to objects that carry stories,” Fiedler says. “The clutch felt like a doorway into a different time—Parisian nights, bold women, statement elegance. It echoed everything I love: geometry, timeless lines, and the courage to stand out.”
Ray of Light includes earrings, rings, pendants, and bracelets (plus a pair of cufflinks), and each piece is a complete delight. They’re like winged art deco treasures that appear to hold the sun within their outstretching lines of diamonds—a scene the collection’s name describes so well.

The collection is varied. Despite its vintage aesthetic, the styles are modern: among them, an earcuff and small hoop earrings with dangling parts, initial charms, chunky cuffs, and pinky rings.
Regarding the line’s inspiration, Fiedler offers the perfect take on the relationship between handbags and jewelry. “Jewelry and handbags are sisters in the world of self-expression,” she says. “A handbag carries your world; jewelry carries your identity.
“Both are intentional choices, collector’s pieces you reach for when you want to say something without speaking. For me, they’re connected through craftsmanship, legacy, and the power to transform a look with one bold detail.”

Wyld Box’s Ray of Light is just the type of original, memorable, and bound-to-last jewelry people are looking to score during the holidays. On that note, Fiedler offers a bit of advice for retailers: “Don’t be afraid to curate with personality. Today’s customer is cosmopolitan, instinctive, and looking for something that feels like her.
“Show pieces with a story, with a soul, with an energy that stands apart. When you lead with authenticity, the right clients always follow.”
