World of Gems to Hold 4th Conference

The 4th World of Gems Conference will be held Sept. 21 and 22 in Rosemont, Ill., said organizer Gemworld International.

Speakers at the upcoming conference include physicist Dr. John Emmett; Dr. Jim Shigley, distinguished research fellow, GIA; Thomas Hainschwang, director, GGTL Laboratories; Nathan Renfro, lead analytical specialist of gem identification, GIA; Brendan Laurs, editor-in-chief, Journal of Gemmology; Douglas Hucker, CEO, American Gem Trade Association; and Jeffrey Bergman, founder and co-owner, Primagem.

“What makes the WOGC particularly appealing is the effort that we make not only to present the latest original gemological research and information, but to also make sure it is done in a way that connects with our diverse audience,” said conference chair Richard Drucker in a statement.

The two-day conference will be held at the InterContinental Hotel Chicago O’Hare. Participants can sign up at the conference website
