World Jewlery Center Launch Party

An abandoned parcel of land in downtown Las Vegas was the scene of an elaborate launch party for the World Jewelry Center, a proposed one-million-square-foot project that combines 55-plus story tower for the jewelry trade, a three-story gems and jewelry retail center and museum, and luxury residential suites.

Among the guests at the event held Oct. 25 inside a tent on the property were jewelry and gem industry officials representing the first 10 companies that signed letter-of-intent to occupy the building, American Gem Society representatives (who signed a letter-of-intent to occupy the WJC earlier in the day), and local Las Vegas and Nevada officials who are backing the project.
