Wolf designs settles trademark infringement suit with Mele Manufacturing

Wolf Designs, London, has settled its dispute with Mele Manufacturing Co. said Wolf Designs’ president, Simon P. Wolf. Wolf sued Mele for infringing on its U.S. Trademark.

A statement from Wolf, which has its U.S. headquarters in Malibu, Calif., says that the matter was resolved in accordance with the following terms: Mele Manufacturing paid an undisclosed sum to Wolf Designs. Mele agreed to enter into a consent judgment and there is a permanent injunction to prevent Mele Manufacturing from encroaching upon any of Wolf’s proprietary rights.

“We consider Mele Manufacturing Company’s intent and subsequent actions a blatant violation of our company’s intellectual property,” stated Simon P. Wolf V. “We have a premium brand with a long history and are willing to do whatever it takes to protect our trademark now and in the future.”

Founded in 1834 by Philip Wolf, in Hanau, Germany, Wolf Designs Inc. manufactures quality jewelry boxes, watch rotators and personal and home accessories. The 170-year-old company entered the U.S. market in 1988.
