WJA-SD Jewelry Design Competition

The Women’s Jewelry Association San Diego Chapter is calling for entries for a jewelry design competition. This contest is open to anyone who is interested in creating a piece of jewelry for the chapter’s celebration event commemorating the 25th anniversary of the national organization scheduled for Sept. 11, at the Sheraton Hotel in Carlsbad, Calif.

The jewelry entries submitted will be judged by the guests of the 25th anniversary event.  The winning designer will be announced at the event and will be awarded a tsavorite. All jewelry entries will be a donation and auctioned off that evening.

The jewelry designed is to be a silver piece in a form of a pin/brooch, necklace, earrings, ring or bracelet that should reflect the theme and mission of the Women’s Jewelry Association.

“This is an excellent opportunity for designers to showcase their creativity and talents among the industry and other WJA members at this particular event,” said Alexandra Hart, president of WJA San Diego, in a statement Friday. “This design competition coincides with the spirit of celebrating the national organization’s milestone of 25 years.”

The deadline for jewelry design entries is Sept. 3. All entries are to be dropped off at Stuart Benjamin & Co., 7510 Hazard Center Drive, Suite 405, San Diego, CA 92108, attention to Barbara Wasserstrom.

This 25th anniversary event will be on Sept. 11 from 7 p.m. – 10 p.m. at the Sheraton Hotel in Carlsbad. The event is open to WJA members and non-members. Cost is $25 for members; $35 for non-members and/or guests at the door.
