Men’s jewelry routinely has masculine themes like skulls, but William Henry takes virility to new levels with offerings featuring dinosaur bones.
Flaunt is a 12-SKU collection made in sterling silver with 18k gold accents that debuts in November. Matt Conable, founder and chief designer, maintains that the pieces will be limited to necklaces and bracelets, and gemstones used include rubies, sapphires, and diamonds, among others.
As for the dinosaur bone, it is from “an apatosaurus that walked the earth 100 million years ago,” says Conable. “The bone is not color enhanced or dyed. The diverse coloring of this fossil material is caused by the long process of permineralization, which occurs when the pores of the material are impregnated by mineral matter from the surrounding environment. The fossil dinosaur bone we use comes from the surroundings of Hanksville in Utah.”
Retail prices start at $2,950, and buy-in for William Henry is $15,000.
