What’s Selling: Valentine’s Day Gifts

We asked four retailers across the country to share their best-selling Valentine’s Day gifts of the week.

North

Rummele’s Fine Jewelry, Manitowoc, Wis. Marco Bicego satin-finish gold with colored stones necklace, $9,200. “We all love it in the store and we’ve had people become collectors,” says sales manager Tracy Alpert. “All we’ve sold is to people that already have a piece and their significant other wants to add to their collection.”

Central

Noe’s Jewelry, Raymore, Miss. Estate earrings, $149–$299. “We’ve sold a lot of estate jewelry. They’re always popular in our store because they’re good pieces that are taken care of,” explains manager Rochelle Kai. “We clean and refinish them and sell them for a lesser price than a piece you would find firsthand in that quality.”

South

Franzetti Jewelers, Austin, Texas Diamond pendant in white gold, $600. “It’s probably the most romantic piece of jewelry after a ring,” says owner Monte Franzetti. “A lot of our Valentine’s Day customers have been young, so price is a good selling point.”

West

Sarah Leonard Fine Jewelers, Los Angeles Charles Garnier sterling silver hoop earrings, $105. “I would say for Valentine’s Day they are a great price point,” says owner Gail Friedman.
