What’s Selling in Stores: Men’s Watches

We asked retailers across the country to share their best-selling men’s watches this week.

Josephs Jewelers, West Des Moines, Iowa
Rolex Submariner: $9,050 for stainless steel model (pictured); $8,550 for model with black bezel/dial; $13,400 for steel-and-gold model; and $34,250 for the 18kt gold model. “We’ve even been seeing some interest in rose gold in this model,” says co-owner Trisha Joseph. “Which is not surprising, because we’ve seen rose gold become more popular in men’s wedding bands.”

Jewelers Bench, Kingwood, Texas Citizen watches; pictured: Perpetual Chrono A-T; $850 “I don’t have room to showcase five or six brands, so we picked Citizen,” says store designer and master goldsmith Mike Aalund. “It’s a very good robust watch.”

Moritz-Reusch Jewelry, St. Louis, Mo.
Tavannes watches; pictured: Coin Edge Gents Chronograph Rose Physical Vapor Deposition; $895 “It’s a Swiss-made watch and a new brand for the U.S.,” explains sales associate Kate Schoellhorn. “They’re gorgeous!”

Alexander’s Jewelers, Texarkana, Texas Rolex Yacht-Master II; $25,000 “The interesting thing about the Rolex is that it appeals to any income earner because everyone understands the value and durability of the watch,” says co-owner Van Alexander.
