What You’re Talking About on JCKonline, Week of Feb. 27

Beyoncé and Blue Nile were on commenters’ minds

Sarah on “Who Made Beyoncé’s Incredible Grammys Jewelry”:

Beyoncé wears jewelry the way Liz Taylor wore it in her day. Great to see the big bold glamour look can still wow…

Ame on “Where Does Blue Nile Go From Here?”:

Any [brick-and-mortar] jeweler that ignores the online vendors and their hold on this industry is simply deluding themselves of their eventual demise. Online vendors are the future, especially those with a successful physical location. It allows for service and maintenance, as well as for those who maybe wish to do their window shopping online but close the deal in person, or compare several options in person. There will always be some shoppers who don’t want to make that leap, but the next generations are going online.

Gary Roskin on “Gem Expert Jules Sauer Dies”:

We have lost one of the great ones…a true icon in the world of colored gemstones.

Talisman Collection on “How Does a Small, Indie Jewelry Designer End Up in the Gorsuch Catalog?”:

That catalog is one of my happiest pleasures. And the StevieWren jewelry is delightfully pretty and fun. Loved reading this story and look forward to seeing more designs from this indie brand.

AuctionKing on “887 Carat Emerald Goes Up for Auction”:

That is a beautiful emerald! I agree that such an amazing historical artifact should be in a museum.
