Washington D.C. Jeweler Holds Contest in Honor of the Royal Baby

Mervis Diamonds is planning to give one lucky new mom a sparkling gift.

The Washington, D.C., store will give a pair of diamond earrings, valued at $500, to the new mother entered in its contest who gives birth the closest to the day and time of the arrival of the royal offspring of Britain’s Prince William and wife Kate.

“Although we don’t have a royal family here in the United States, we want to make one lucky new mom feel like a queen when she puts on her new diamond earrings,” Jonathan Mervis, owner of the store, said in a statement. “Nothing is more exciting than a new baby in the family and we wish only health and happiness to both the royal family and yours.”

As an added bonus to its local market, Mervis will give an extra $100 gift card to the mom if the baby has a birth certificate from Washington, D.C., Maryland, or Virginia.

To enter, visit the store’s website and fill out the form, including the baby’s birth data. Entries will be accepted up to 10 days after the royal baby is born, which might be very soon.
