Stuller, Inc. has announced that J.P. Walrond and Robert B. Cox have joined the company as business vice presidents. Walrond will assume the role of BVP – Bridal Jewelry. Cox will serve as BVP – Mountings. The company is currently actively searching for two other BVP candidates for Findings and Diamonds.

“Mr. Walrond and Mr. Cox will develop policies, procedures, and business plans for their assigned range of products and/or services,” said Charles D. “Chuck” Lein, President/COO of Stuller. “They will be responsible for all activities associated with the development, procurement, and sales within their product groups and will directly affect corporate-wide profit and loss through their respective product categories.”

Both persons held significant management positions within the industry prior to joining Stuller. Walrond was National Sales Manager for John C. Nordt Co. in Roanoke, Va. Previously, he served as director of sales for Erwin Reu, Inc. of Union, N.J.

Cox was the head of Sales & Marketing, Department Stores with T. Sardelli & Sons, Providence, R.I., and has held senior management positions with Colibri, OroAmerica, and Karten’s Jewelers. In their new roles, Walrond and Cox will report to the executive vice presidents of their divisions and will directly supervise assigned Product Managers and administrative staff.

Qualifications for remaining BVP need seven to ten years of direct marketing experience, including P&L, product selection, vendor selection, market analysis, product requirements, and pricing of products in specific business segments. Candidates should have excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, as well as the ability to communicate clearly at all levels and motivate assigned staff. A four-year business or marketing degree is preferred, and extensive jewelry industry background is required. International experience is a plus.
