Wacky stunt bubbles up Philadelphia jewelry store

Steven Singer of Steven Singer Jewelers, located on jewelers row in Philadelphia, is either obsessed with cleanliness or has love of bubbles. What else could explain his latest promotion?

Singer’s store was filled up with bubbles and twenty women had the opportunity to wade through the soap suds in search of thousands of dollars worth of gems including a $10,000 pair of 2-ct. diamond stud earrings. Other goodies included a 20006 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, $5,000 worth of plastic surgery, $1,500 dinner at Old Original Bookbinders, a Philadelphia culinary institution, and two tickets to a Philadelphia Eagles and Tampa Bay Buccaneers football game.

Singer teamed up with a local radio station that broadcast live from the store with their morning personalities and other local celebrities such as the Philadelphia Phillies GM former Philadelphia Eagles football player Hugh Douglas and Jon Runyon. The contest was visible from the sidewalk through the window and on a 57-i9nch television screen as hundreds of people stopped to watch the unusual goings-on. The May 11 promotion garnered extensive media attention with three of the four local network stations covering the event.
