Jeweler Herschel Mullins, 96, died on July 17.
Mullins opened Mullins Jewelry Store (now J. Mullins Jewelry and Gifts) in 1938 in Rutherford County, Tenn.
Prior to spending seven decades as a jeweler, Mullins served as an aircraft instrument repairman during World War II.
According to The Daily News Journal, Mullins was known in his community for playing the harmonica while working in his store.
He is survived by his three sons, three daughters-in-law, eight grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
