Vacheron Constantin Debuts Fully Gem-Set Overseas Models to Close 270th Anniversary Year

Share

Vacheron Constantin has announced the release of the Overseas Self-Winding High Jewelry, representing the final major launch of its 270th anniversary year. The new timepieces, available in 18k white gold and 18k pink gold, are the first 35 mm models in the Overseas collection to be entirely set with diamonds.

The technical focus of these references is the diamond setting, which totals approximately 12.58 carats across 1,430 stones. The bezel utilizes an invisible setting, a method where 60 baguette-cut diamonds are mounted without visible metal prongs. This requires gem setters to mill a V-shaped groove into each stone with a tolerance of 0.02 mm, allowing the diamonds to slide onto hidden gold rails. This precision ensures a continuous surface of light across the signature Maltese cross-shaped bezel.

The dial follows a snow-setting technique, incorporating 314 brilliant-cut diamonds of varying diameters. By placing different-size stones in a randomized but tight pattern, the design minimizes visible gold between the gems. The hour markers are composed of 12 baguette-cut diamonds, and a date aperture is positioned at 3 o’clock.

The watches are powered by the Manufacture Calibre 1088/1, a self-winding movement with a 40-hour power reserve. The movement includes a 22k gold oscillating weight, visible through the sapphire caseback, which features the compass rose emblem characteristic of the Overseas line.

True to the collection’s focus on versatility, each watch includes an interchangeable strap system. Buyers receive three options: an integrated gem-set gold bracelet, a rubber strap, and an alligator leather strap. Both the rubber and leather options come with a gem-set pin buckle. Pricing for the pieces is available on request.

This launch concludes the brand’s 270th anniversary celebrations, which have run throughout 2025. By applying high jewelry techniques to its primary sports-luxury silhouette, Vacheron Constantin finishes its commemorative year by highlighting the intersection of technical watchmaking and gem-setting expertise.
