Within the next few months, the U.S. Treasury Department will publish regulations that will require the jewelry industry to institute anti-money laundering programs in compliance with the USA Patriots Act.

In response, the Manufacturing Jewelers and Suppliers of America, Jewelers Vigilance Committee, and The Jewelers Board of Trade are sponsoring a workshop in New York City that will provide a complete overview of the Act and solutions for compliance.

The three-hour workshop will be held Nov. 12 at 9:30 a.m. at the Fashion Institute of Technology, 227 W. 27th St., Building D, Katie Murphy Amphitheater. Featured panelists are: Cecilia L. Gardner, exec. director & gen. counsel, JVC, Anna Martin, Sr. VP, ABN Amro Bank, and Dione D. Kenyon, president, JBT.
