Updated Report: ICA Director Campbell Bridges Murdered in Kenya

Scottish geologist and ICA Director Campbell Bridges was attacked and murdered by a mob in Kenya Tuesday over a dispute over mining rights in southeastern Kenya at a mine in the Taita Taveta District in Tsavo National Park. 

According to an AP report, the mob, armed with arrows, spears and machetes, attacked Bridges after he had stopped to remove a log from the road.  Two of Bridges colleagues were also reportedly seriously injured. 

According to an AGTA report, his son Bruce was also attacked and sustained serious, but not life threatening, injuries.

Campbell is survived by his wife Judith, son Bruce and daughter Laura. Privacy is requested by the family at this time. Condolences may be sent to gems@tsavorite.com.
