Mark and Candy Udell, the husband-and-wife team who own and manage London Jewelers, based in Manhasset, New York, will receive Jewelers of America’s (JA) 2026 Gem Award for Lifetime Achievement.
JA said in a statement that it’s honoring the Udells for turning a single-store retailer, founded in 1926, into a nationally recognized multi-store chain. In 2025, London Jewelers opened a Rolex boutique in East Hampton, and a fifth store in The Mall at Short Hills in New Jersey. The Udells have also mentored a new generation of their family—daughter Randi, son Scott, and nephew Zachary—to carry on the business.
The honor will be presented at the next Gem Awards, which will take place Friday, March 13, 2026, at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City.
The Udells “have built an incredible business that relies heavily on family values and a commitment to excellence in everything they do,” Amanda Gizzi, JA’s senior vice president of corporate affairs, said in a statement. “As London Jewelers prepares to celebrate their 100th anniversary, we are honored to recognize Mark and Candy and their lifetime of success.”
