Finlay Enterprises announced that Joseph M. Melvin, its executive vice president and chief operating officer, and president and chief operating officer of its wholly-owned subsidiary,Finlay Fine Jewelry Corporation, will retire. 

Leslie A. Philip, executive vice president and chief merchandising officer of  Finlay Enterprises and Finlay Jewelry, is also retiring.

In connection with these changes, Finlay promoted Karin Knudsen to the position of executive vice president of merchandising and marketing of Finlay Jewelry. Most recently, Knudsen was a regional vice president responsible for managing Finlay Jewelry’s relationship with Macy’s Central.

In February, Finlay announced it was shutting its leased department business and closing 40 of its stores.
