Trend File: Jewelry That’s With the Band

Simmering alongside the many trends that celebrate maximalism in fashion jewelry this summer (think lobster motifs and jewelry beaded in a riot of primary colors) is one that’s deeply minimalist.

Designers are doubling, and even tripling, lines of unembellished metal to create cool banded styles, often in yellow golds or gold-toned alloys. The allure of banded styles for retailers and consumers is an opportunity to get a big-and-bold look without the physical weight and sky-high costs of a more solid gold design.

For retailers looking to show consumers something fresh feeling, the look is a sophisticated (and no-fuss) alternative to stacking rings and multiple earrings styling. A double-banded ring or a double-hoop earring gives you a layered gold look in a single piece.
