Traveling Salesman Robbed of $300,000 in Jewelry

Two men stole a briefcase full of diamonds and gold from a jewelry distributor Tuesday in a Boca Raton parking lot, according to a report in the Palm Beach Post.

Eyal Kallati, a 25-year-old jewelry distributor from New York, was walking to his car in a parking lot on the 2100 block of St. Andrews Boulevard about 12:50 p.m. when two men with their faces covered approached him, police told the newspaper.

When Kallati jumped into his car and put his briefcase in the back seat, the robbers—one of whom carried a weapon—smashed the rear window and stole the briefcase, the newspaper reports. The suitcase contained about $300,000 worth of jewelry.

The robbers left in what was described in the report as a newer model white Chevrolet Impala with gold trim and a paper tag.
