Traveling salesman robbed of $250,000 in jewelry

Three men robbed a traveling salesman Wednesday of more than $250,000 worth of jewelry at a gas station in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.

Shortly before 6 p.m., Behnam Shokraniel was at the Texaco gas station on State Road 84 when he was blocked in by a small, black SUV, police reportedly said.

Three men got out of the SUV and approached Shokraniel, demanding that he unlock his car door, police reportedly said. When Shokraniel refused, one of the suspects brandished a metal object, shattered the car’s left read window and took a briefcase containing more than $250,000 worth of jewelry and fled.

Anyone with information should call the Fort Lauderdale Violent Crimes Unit at 954-828-5700 or Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
