One of fashion’s favorite jewelry designers, Tom Binns, has teamed up with Los Angeles-based perfumer Lisa Hoffman on a collection that appeals to two of our major senses: sight and smell.
The Tom Binns for Lisa Hoffman collection is comprised of a necklace ($250), bracelet ($300), and earrings ($200)—each incorporating a specially designed locket that encases wooden beads infused with Hoffman’s signature fragrances.

All three lockets boast a smattering of vents that disseminate the perfume into the air. Beads retain their scent for up to three weeks, at which time users can snap open the locket and replace with a new cache.
The locket’s amorphous shapes recall organic forms such as kidney beans and cocoons, but were actually inspired by the ebb and flow of liquid mercury, according to a representative at Lisa Hoffman.
The base metal pieces come plated in five different precious metals: white rhodium, 14k shiny gold-plated, 14k matte gold-plated, 14k rose gold-plated, and bronze, and are sold with a small jar of scented beads that pack as much perfume power as an entire bottle of Lisa Hoffman fine fragrance.

Hoffman, who shares an office space in Brentwood, Calif., with her hubby, Dustin Hoffman, approached Binns about working on a collection last year. The perfumer has long been a fan of the CFDA-winning jewelry designer’s avant-garde fashion pieces, which are hugely popular in Hollywood, not to mention with Michelle Obama.
The trio of designs is being released progressively over the next two months. The necklace is currently available on LisaHoffmanBeauty.com, the cuff bracelet will follow in early November, and the earrings will launch at the beginning of December.
Though fragrance jewelry has been in existence for decades, this is undoubtedly the most refined take on the theme we’ve seen yet.
