Today on Set: We’re Shooting Silver Jewelry for the November Issue

The day before a photo shoot is always a little bit like Christmas for the JCK staff because we’re opening lots of packages of merchandise. Not that we get to keep any of it, but we have a lot of fun looking at all the lovely selections that folks send us for possible use in upcoming issues.

We’re shooting our November cover and some inside shots today, so that means we’re photographing silver jewelry (silver is always the theme of the issue). We’ve pulled in pieces from Astley Clarke, Lika Behar, and LusciousS, among others, and we’re still hoping to pull some items from Blackbird and the Snow and David Yurman. And, we learned late yesterday that Somers also sent us some merchandise.

A staff fave this month: jewelry from Elizabeth Garvin, whose custom-cut gemstone rings in silver and gold imprinted looks of awe on many a staffer’s face. The stone shapes were like jagged, see-through peaks of miniature boulders in a minty green amethyst or colorless quartz. Badass, I believe, was the term used to describe them. And it fits—see for yourself below.

As for exactly what will be used, we will all have to wait until November to see the pieces selected.

Earrings by Mabel Chong, ring by Elizabeth Garvin, snake effect bracelet with mother-of-pearl by Gabriel & Co., and hammered silver bangle by Lika Behar
