Well, I’m sure they would hate the word “discount,” but Tiffany and Co. is acknowledging that “competitive” pricing is a fact of life today. This blog post says that Tiffany has lowered one carat diamond prices “as much as 15%,” and that its salespeople are actually promoting this to consumers.
Tiffany spokeswoman Linda Buckley declined comment, except to say “it is true we have reduced prices on engagement rings on average 10%.”
