Tiffany & Co., Swarovski, and Cartier top the list of the most searched for brands in the United States, according to exclusive research provided to JCK by the Digital Luxury Group, a New York City–based firm that analyzes online consumer searches.
Utilizing a methodology that enabled the analysis of 16 million online searches performed in the United States on Google and Bing from January 2012 to September 2012, the Digital Luxury Group also discovered the most searched-for collections, in-demand materials, and more.
“Searches are a relevant indicator of consumer interest,” says Florent Bondoux, Digital Luxury Group’s head of strategy and intelligence. “In traditional market research methods—like surveys—people tend to be influenced by the way the question is asked. The method we developed completely erases those biases. Why? Because when someone is creating a search, he’s completely anonymous; he doesn’t need to impress his wife or his neighbor.”
