Tiffany & Co. to open a boutique in Shanghai

Tiffany & Co., New York, will open a boutique in the City Plaza shopping complex at 1618 Nanjing Xi Road, Shanghai, on Wednesday. The boutique will occupy approximately 1,300 sq.ft. on the ground floor of the complex’s anchor Jiu Guang department store.

Among the designs that will be offered are the jeweler’s diamonds in platinum collections, including a new engagement ring from the Tiffany Legacy Collection a diamond-encrusted setting surrounding a patented cushion cut center diamond; and Lucida, Tiffany’s patented diamond cut and setting. The boutique will also introduce customers to the new Tiffany Mark T-57 timepiece, an addition to the Tiffany Mark watch collection.

“We are very enthusiastic about establishing a store in China’s largest city and making Tiffany’s superior craftsmanship available in Shanghai,” said James E. Quinn, president of Tiffany & Co. “As a center of taste and style, Shanghai is an ideal location for Tiffany and is consistent with our long-term strategy of expanding into key markets around the world.”

The new Shanghai boutique will be Tiffany’s second location in China. The first, a boutique in The Peninsula Palace Hotel in Beijing, opened in Dec. 2001.
