The Tassel Trend Continues at Spring 2017 New York Fashion Week

Swingy styles straight from the runways

“Tassels and pom-poms are in!” enthused San Jose, Calif., fine jewelry retailer Mann’s Jewelers about an Instagram item we posted this weekend showing models in three different New York Fashion Week presentations wearing tassel earring styles.

Too true. The tassel has been red-hot in jewelry for a while, and if the New York runways are a bellwether for what will be trending in the coming season (at the very least, they play a significant role), the craze for styles with fringe looks to be continuing—particularly in the earring department.

Contemporary/bridge brands including Tadashi Shoji, Kate Spade New York, Christian Siriano, and Nicole Miller—four labels built to ensnare grown-up fashion consumers—showed tassel earrings and in bright, bold colors.

I wonder if we’ll see more tassels at the European shows. I’ll update this post if and when I spy them!
