Oversize and ultra-long is the new craze in earwear

Jewelry is often seen as an accent to a specific ensemble. It’s the finishing touch on that LBD, the latest addition to a ring stack, the pendant that decorates the neckline just so. This isn’t to say that jewelry doesn’t make a statement or doesn’t matter. We in this industry can be confident of the power of jewelry, knowing that memorable moments—red carpet and in real life—wouldn’t be the same without it. But here’s something refreshing and unapologetic in its demands to be seen: the oversize look. Particularly in earrings, the super-big look is a statement that serves as an accent to nothing or no one—it is the centerpiece. Spotted on many a runway and on the streets during fashion Week, the crowds are warming up to this departure from dainty and demure.
