The Christie’s Geneva Magnificent Jewel Auction Estimated to Take in $80 Million

Diamond devant-de-corsage brooch

The Christie’s Magnificent Jewels sale on May 13 in Geneva, which will feature exceptional gemstones and historically significant jewels, is expected to garner in excess of $80 million.

Among the jewels of particular interest is a devant-de-corsage brooch given to the Archduchess Maria Christina of Austria by her husband, King Alfonso XII of Spain, in 1879. The diamond brooch is estimated at  $1.5 million–$2 million.

Among the top lots for the sale: 

• 55.52 ct. D-color flawless diamond (estimate: $8.5 million–$10.5 million)

• 5.18 ct. rectangular-cut fancy vivid pink diamond (estimate: $9.5 million–$12.5 million)

• 21.75 ct. Ashoka-cut D-color flawless diamond ring (estimate: $2.8 million–$3.5 million)

• 35.09 ct. cushion-shape Kashmir sapphire (estimate: $3 million–$4.2 million)
