These 10 chains are long on style
We’ve talked sautoirs and pendants, layers long and short. The demand for pieces like these is being answered, in both classic and imaginative ways. I love that they offer wearers the opportunity to get creative, mixing and matching—so even if someone had a similar necklace, her look could be entirely different. Another layerable design to add to the mix is the wrap necklace. I refer to it as such because it can be wrapped (but doesn’t have to be), due to its generous length and general non-bulkiness, though you’ll most likely see their lengths referred to as opera or rope. Someone could wear a necklace like this single, doubled, sometimes even tripled. My current favorite iteration of the wrap is the double layer, with the first layer sitting very closely to the neck, emulating the ’90s choker look while also bringing the elegance with the second layer draping below it. It’s subtle and impactful all at once and can look any way its wearer wants it to.
