That’s a Wrap: LUXURY 2016’s Invitation-Only Preview Concludes

Highlights and testimonials from JCK’s exclusive jewelry show

Beginning as an invitation-only, exclusive preview, JCK’s LUXURY 2016 show welcomed a roster of qualified buyers on May 31 at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. This year, the show welcomed more stores (increasing 9 percent) and industry professionals (an increase of 3 percent) than years past, boasting an impressive lineup of brands and designers that was boosted further with the addition of the Prestige family and LUXURY Watch.

An expanded show floor comprising two grand ballrooms was just the beginning of LUXURY’s highlights this year: exclusive keynotes, amenities, and celebrations rounded out the show’s specialties, packed into just three days. On the highlight reel, Jack Mitchell, chairman of Mitchell Stores and author of Hug Your Customers, kicked it all off with his May 31 keynote, which also announced the very much anticipated lineup of LUXURY Retailers of the Year. This year’s award focused on retailers that went above and beyond in the arena of personal touch. The winning title went to Crocker’s Jewelers of Texarkana, Texas. Ongoing exhibit Intervision, held in the Elite Enclave section of the show, garnered attention for its interactive, 3-D experience, demonstrating the future of shopping for millennials and future generations of customers.

As the invitation-only portion of LUXURY came to a close, both exhibitors of the show and attending retailers came away with positive reviews:

“Our first experience with LUXURY has been terrific,” said Paula Peterson of Nanis Italian Jewels, an exhibitor at LUXURY. “The caliber of retailers is impressive, and JCK has a broad reach, which we have the opportunity to take advantage of. Aside from meeting new elite buyers from Canada, the Caribbean, and Mexico, the show is very well organized and boasts with optimism and positive energy—quite refreshing.”

“We’ve had a geat LUXURY show this year,” said Judy Padis of Padis Jewelers, an attending buyer of the show. “It’s the ideal event to meet with brands we carry, network with industry friends, and find new and exciting lines to add to our offerings. We also really liked the new Oceanside ballroom—it was a luxurious backdrop or doing business. Pair all of that with the five-star treatment received from the show staff, and you’ve got an event we’ll keep returning to.”

JCK’s LUXURY will conclude its 2016 run, open to all badge holders of JCK Las Vegas, today, June 6. For more information on LUXURY, visit jckonline.com/luxury.
