Tennessee Jeweler Clayton Poole Dies



He was vice president of Peter D. Poole Fine Jewelers in Memphis

Clayton Devereaux Poole, vice president of Peter D. Poole Fine Jewelers in Memphis, Tenn., died Aug. 20. He was 32.

After completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Tennesee-Knoxville and graduate degree at Trevecca Univeristy in Nashville, Tenn., Poole worked as senior account manager at Dell for seven years before deciding to join the family business started by his parents, Peter D. Poole and Leigh Anne Poole. He moved to Carlsbad, Calif., to study at the Gemological Institute of America, completed his Graduate Gemologist degree in 2014, and began working in the store that year.

He is survived by his wife, Danielle Kendall Poole; his parents; his sisters, Mary Avery Poole and Julie Marie Poole; and his brother, Barry Joseph Poole.

The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his memory to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital, Christian Brothers High School, or the Boy Scouts of America, Chickasaw Council.
