Team Pucci: Isharya Taps Industry Exec to Lead U.S. Sales

Many love the rich-looking, bold designs of Indian jewels, but
can’t afford the cost of karat gold and diamond versions. However, an
alternative exists in Isharya, the modern Indian-inspired fashion jewelry brand
of gold-plated brass, resin, glass, and agate pieces, founded by
sisters-in-law, Radhika and Gauri Tandon, in 2004.

Though the line is already carried in more than 550 retail
and online stores worldwide, including Henri Bendel, Stanley Korshak, and Net-a-Porter.com, the Tandons are looking to take U.S. sales
to an even higher level by bringing in industry executive, Michael Pucci, founder
and president of The Abbiamo Group in Burbank, Calif., to head up sales and
marketing for the brand. In the role, Pucci, who launched his company in
1999, and is known for helping brands—most notably, Rebecca—launch collections
stateside, will develop all marketing, advertising, and public relations
programs for Isharya after launching its Fall Collection during Jewelry Week in
Las Vegas, June 2–6.

More details: the company name comes from the combined names
of the founders’ children, Ishaan, Armaan and Arya; Radhika resides in San Francisco, while Gauri lives in Mumbai, and the starting retail price for the line
is $95.
