Titan Industries plans to close the two Tanishq boutiques it opened in America, according to a report in the Hindu Line.
The company, a leading jewelry retailer in India, opened two stores in July 2008, one in Paramus, New Jersey, and the other in Shaumburg, Ill. The eventual plan was for a nationwide chain.
The plans were announced in a recent company filing. It did not give any reason for the decision, the newspaper said.
The stores evoked the company’s Indian heritage and had collections based around yoga, rain and lotus flowers.
