TAG Heuer has been named the official timekeeper of the New York City Marathon for the next three years.
To highlight the partnership, the company is hosting a challenge for marathon participants called Get Your New York On. Runners are invited to share their stories here. Visitors to the site will vote on their favorite stories, with the most popular being featured each day. The winners of the challenge, to be selected by a panel of judges, including TAG Heuer ambassador and tennis player Maria Sharapova, will be featured on a billboard in Times Square, to be revealed on Nov. 1.
In addition, the winners of the male, female, and wheelchair divisions will each receive a commemorative watch.
“The TCS New York City Marathon perfectly embodies the TAG Heuer mind-set of mental fortitude, perseverance, and inner strength,” said TAG Heuer North America president and CEO Ulrich Wohn in a statement. “Running 26.2 miles requires resilience and willpower, and TAG Heuer is thrilled to celebrate those personal achievements with these ambitious individuals.”
Timex was the previous timekeeper for the event, sponsoring it from 2008 to 2013.
