Synthetic diamonds seminar to be held before MIDAS Show

The MIDAS Texan Fine Jewelry Show and the Lone Star Chapter of the GIA Alumni will be hosting an all day seminar: Synthetics Diamonds or What Ever you Call Them, Are You Ready for Them? Sept. 10, from 10 a.m. till 4 pm. The seminar will take place at Grapevine, Texas, the new home of the MIDAS Texan Fine Jewelry Show.

The major manufacturers of laboratory grown diamonds will be speaking about their products and will be available to answer questions as well as displaying their products.

Participants are: Lucent Diamonds of Colorado, Gemesis Diamonds of Florida, Apollo Gems of Massachusetts, Chatham diamonds of California, and Bryant Whetstone of Texas. All will be speaking and then join in with an open forum roundtable discussion. The major laboratories will also be represented. European Gemological Laboratory, International Gemological Laboratory and GIA Gem Trade Laboratory. After lunch, all will be invited to examine these new lab grown specimens, with guidance from gemologists and the manufacturer representatives using microscopes and other instruments to help in identifying this new material.

The cost of this seminar is $125, including tax, and offers lunch and coffee/tea breaks. There is very limited seating so you must make a reservation and as soon as possible. Call any of the following numbers to confirm reservations or for information.
