Virtual Diamond Boutique Releases New App

Jewelry retailers will soon be able to plan their inventory on their phones through Virtual Diamond Boutique’s (VDB) new free application, VDB announced in a press release. The app, available for iPhone, iPad, and Android devices, will allow sellers to view high-quality photos and videos of diamonds and connect with customers through email or social media.

“We are the Instagram of the diamond world,” said founding partner Gil Ohad. “This new technology is exciting because it gives the retailer the ability to communicate with today’s consumers on their level.”

VDB hopes that seeing diamonds before ordering samples will lead to reduced shipping costs and security risks. The program will also provide training tools so users can teach new sales associates industry terms and best practices. The company says its application is simple, and streamlined design and free access will make it stand apart from similar products.

One user, Pennsylvania retailer Benari Jewelers, is already showering the app with praise.

“The Virtual Diamond Boutique is the most user-friendly and efficient option for when we are working with a customer, because it is quick, easy, and visual,” says Ron Zulli of Benari Jewelers. “When a customer sees the high-res imagery and videos on-screen, it becomes much more believable and measurable for them.”
