SICIS Opens Parisian Flagship Store

sicis parisIt takes between 200 and 500 mosaic tiles to make one square centimeter of micro-mosaic, and requires hundreds of hours of work. That’s why, when SICIS unveils its 1,001 mosaic in its new Parisian flagship, it’s a big deal.

Spanning two floors in the heart of Paris’ Triangle d’Or, the new boutique was inaugurated on Nov. 15. The space has been totally transformed—into a larger-than-life jewelry box—housing the brand’s trademark jewelry and watch collections made in micro- and nono-mosaic, furniture, works of art, and more.

SICIS was founded in 1988 by Maurizio Leo Placuzzi in Ravenna, Italy, the birthplace of mosaics. After 25 years, the company still strives to reinvent the know-how to revive mosaics and has become a leader in mosaic arts.

Titanium-Jewelry.com Releases New Line of J.R. Yates Cobalt Rings

Online retailer Titanium-Jewelry.com has announced the arrival of its newest line in men’s cobalt wedding bands from designer and company CEO-founder J.R. Yates. “I really wanted to create modern men’s wedding bands in this exciting new metal, cobalt. Styles that are interesting yet affordable,” Yates said of his new collection. “So we got to work, and as a result we’re very proud to release this new line and add them to our Titanium-Jewelry family.”

The new line is Yates’ answer to growing retail trends and includes variations of designs with diamonds, with both satin and high-polish finishes, and rope and tread patterns. “Consumer benefits of cobalt are its hypo-allergenic properties,” said Yates. “[It is] formulated primarily from the elements cobalt and chromium. As a result, it will not tarnish and is safe for those who normally have difficulty wearing jewelry due to sensitive skin allergies. Further, the color of cobalt is a very bright white, nearly indistinguishable from platinum, but at a fraction of the cost.”

The J.R. Yates line is not available for wholesale. The private and exclusive collection is available only at Titanium-Jewelry.com and at its brick-and-mortar location, Yates & Co. Jewelers in Modesto, Calif.
