Jewelers for Children Donates to Save the Children in Nepal

Jewelers for Children (JFC) recently made a $25,000 donation to Save the Children’s Nepal Earthquake Relief Fund, in an effort to assist children and their families in the devastated area.

“While the industry does not do a substantial amount of work in Nepal, the board of directors felt the tragedy affecting so many children was worthy of our support,” said JFC board chair Ruth Batson in a press release. “Our generous industry has once again stepped up to help in a crisis where children are involved.”

Since its inception, JCF has donated more than $48 million to programs benefiting children. For more information on the industry’s charity and how you can get involved, visit jewelersforchildren.org.

Blumlux Teams With Rise Above Foundation for Celebrity Waiter Night

Indianapolis jeweler and watch brand Blumlux teamed up with the Indianapolis Colts and linebacker Jerrell Freeman to put on a Celebrity Waiter Night event, in the name of his Rise Above Foundation. The event, which took place on the evening of June 11 at 47 Prime Steakhouse in Indianapolis, saw Freeman and his teammates trading in their NFL uniforms for waitstaff apparel as they served guests of the fund-raising event.

Guests purchased tickets to attend this charitable event, which featured a live silent auction to raise funds for Rise Above, which provides inner-city and low-income children with the educational opportunities and resources to reach their full potential. The goal of the foundation: to impact the lives of more than 30,000 at-risk Indianapolis students by the end of 2016.

As a part of the silent auction, Blumlux donated a limited-edition Colts pendant and Blumlux watches, with proceeds going to benefit the foundation.
