AISociety to Offer Online Valuation Appraisal Courses

The Appraisers International Society (AIS) will begin its AiCertification 2015 online sessions Feb. 2, beginning with a five-course series on valuation appraisal for gems, jewelry, watches and other items.

“AIS educational programs are especially dedicated to those who wish to take valuation and related appraisal services to a whole new level,” said AiGovernance chair Bill Korst. “The AIS advanced program leads the way to get you to the top of the valuation and appraisal profession for all valuation and appraisal needs, in all free-market economies and global jurisdictions.”

AIS educates jewelers about the differences between valuation- and gemology-based appraising, a distinction that has aided jewelry industry professionals such as AiGovernance executive committee chair Dennis Blacklaws.

“My experience with appraisal organizations going back many years was based on gemology,” Blacklaws said. “It was through AIS’ comprehensive program that my eyes were opened to valuation professionalism rooted in the principles and applied methodology of the AiCode and AIStandard.”
