IIJS and IGJME kick off in conjunction this week, AGS partners with GemFind

9th Annual IIJS to Kick Off This Week

The ninth edition of the Signature India International Jewelry Show (IIJS) will begin this week, running Feb. 5–8, at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai, India. The show will feature more than 580 exhibitors with a focus on fine jewelry that includes diamonds, gemstones, gold, and couture styles. Visitors from more than 375 Indian cities and around 55 countries are expected to attend. The show also coincides with the third annual India Gem & Jewellery Machinery Expo (IGJME), which runs for the same dates and in the same venue.

“Taking the convenience of our retailers and manufacturers into consideration, we have organized both shows at the same venue at the same time,” said Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) chairman Praveenshankar Pandya in a press release. “The Signature show caters to the sourcing needs of India’s leading jewelry retailers and provides them a platform to view future styles and trends and replenish their inventory, while IGJME showcases the latest product innovation and technological advancements to boost the quality and quantity of production requirements.”

Visitor preregistration for 2016 has already shown an increase of 10 percent over 2015, with an expected 15,000-plus trade visitors including the top 2,000 retailers in the country. Overseas visitor registration has also seen an increase of roughly 20 percent.

In conjunction with the Signature show is the India Gem & Jewellery Machinery Expo, which provides an opportunity for retailers to interact with roughly 140 leading suppliers of machinery, tools, components, packaging accessories, and allied products from all over the globe. For the first time, IGJME will introduce an Italian pavilion with 26 exhibitors, in addition to its other overseas exhibitors from Turkey, the United States, Germany, the United Arab Emirates, China, and Israel.
