Stuller Implements New Automated Melee Screening Device

Louisiana-based Stuller takes its place as one of the first two jewelry companies in the United States to install and utilize the Stuller automated melee screening devicelong-awaited automated melee screening device from De Beers.

The device, the only one of its kind available to the jewelry industry, is designed to detect all synthetics and simulants, verifying the authenticity of melee diamonds ranging from 1 point to 20 points. The fully automated detector can handle up to 360 stones per hour, or 500 carats at any given time.

“This innovative machine offers us yet another way to give our customers trust, confidence, and security when buying diamonds from Stuller,” said vice president of diamonds and gemstones Stanley Zale in a press release. “We’re proud to be among the first in our industry to use this technology and operate within the guidelines and best practices set forth by De Beers.”
