Splendid Music Box company fall 2014New York–based jewelry box makers Splendid Music Box Company debuted the musical jewelry boxes exclusively designed by Hedy Kagan for fall.

The egg- and heart-shaped keepsakes are crystallized with Swarovski gems, include lined jewelry compartments, and have a suggested retail price of $150.

Kagan handcrafted the Italian inlaid musical jewelry box collection by using the ancient technique of marquetry. This piece includes a lined jewelry compartment, and its suggested retail price is $575.

Finally, the photo frame musical jewelry box features a delicate cameo on the inside of the memento, making it a perfect personalized wedding or anniversary gift. It has a suggested retail price of $199.

Steven Douglas Company Introduces Gold Pavé Diamond Crab CollectionSteven Douglas diamond crab collection

California-based jewelers Steven Douglas Company unveiled its latest assortment of 14k gold and pavé diamonds.

The Crab Collection includes pendants, earrings, and rings starting at $1,145. Inspired by the ocean, the line joins other nautical-themed counterparts including mermaids, seahorses, dolphins, and seashells.

First Jewelry Announces Winner of Bead Design Contest for Persona Autism Speaks Collection

Persona Autism Speaks collection 2014First Jewelry Limited reveals the newest additions to its Persona Autism Speaks jewelry collection in honor of World Autism Awareness Day, April 2. The new designs were inspired by submissions to the company’s bead design contest.

The jewelry company partnered with Persona and Autism Speaks to gather the most creative drawings from those affected by autism. The winning design came from Beverly Muzzy, who created the Autism Speaks puzzle heart in honor of her nine-year-old daughter. In second place, Daniel Matta designed a turtle decked out in Autism Speaks’ puzzle print, left, to represent his son’s autism progress, which is moving at a “slow and steady” pace, he said in a press release.

The newest beads will be included in the current Persona Autism Speaks collection and sold at participating Zales retailers across North America. They will be priced from $35 to $50, and $10 from each sale will benefit Autism Speaks.

Shree Ramkrishna Exports Celebrates 50th Anniversary

Indian jewelry company Shree Ramkrishna (SRK) began its 50th anniversary celebration on April 2.

The traditionally well-attended festivities kicked off their jamboree with an oath ceremony as well as informational sessions about the history of SRK. Past attendees have included Bollywood celebrities, musicians, industrial dignitaries, and scholars. It will culminate with a special acknowledgement of SRK chairman Govind Dholakia, who has been with the company since 1964.

Bridal jeweler Frederick Goldman announced Rogers Jewelery Co. sales associate Leroy Kisling as the winner of its “ArtCarved in Rome” second-entry-period grand prize.

Instead of a trip for two to Rome, Italy, Kisling chose to receive a cash prize of $4,500, which will go toward an all-inclusive trip to the Caribbean this summer.

According to a press release, Kisling has been selling ArtCarved rings at Rogers Jewelry for about 25 years. ArtCarved jewelry stands out to him because it updates its collection to stay on trend.

“For 25 years, I have seen people fall in love with the classic, yet modern designs that ArtCarved offers,” he said in a press release.
