Frederick Goldman Announces Three New Patents

Fine jewelry manufacturer and wholesaler Frederick Goldman has announced three additional patents granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office, expanding its portfolio to a total of eight patents, all applied to its Triton contemporary men’s jewelry brand.

According to a press release, the patent family “focuses on single and multilayer nano-technology coatings that deliver a white color and luster to any metal it is applied to, simulating the look of platinum group metals.”

Frederick Goldman is reportedly not the only company that can design and offer white tungsten carbide to the jewelry industry with these patents. The brand also developed  proprietary yellow, rose, and black coatings, enabling it to design multicolor rings.

“It is with these types of new technology that we are able to continue to lead the contemporary metals category,” said CEO Jonathan Goldman, in a press release. “Ensuring that the Triton brand is always on-trend with consumers, so we can fulfill our goal to be the best partner for our retailers now and in the future.”

Alor Celebrates 15th Anniversary of Noir Collection

Alor black cable bracelet

California-based fine jewelry and watch brand Alor has released two new limited-edition bangle bracelet designs to its Noir collection, in honor of the 15th anniversary of the collection’s debut.

The Noir collection, which introduced the use of black cable into its designs, has been a best-seller for the brand. “15 years ago, we introduced Noir,” said creative director and executive vice president Marilyn Harrell, in a press release. “It was edgy, modern, and bold—unlike anything in jewelry then and still today, 15 years later, this attention-grabbing collection stands tall as one of our proudest design accomplishments.”

The two new bangle designs are crafted in 18k gold with black cable and feature diamond-dotted buckles at the front: one oval-shape, the other, rectangular. The pieces will make their debut at the 2018 Couture show in Las Vegas beginning May 31.

Fire Polish to Be Reintroduced at JCK Las Vegas

Coming off of a successful showing at the 2018 AGS Conclave in Nashville, Tenn., Fire Polish Diamonds will be showcasing both its loose diamond and finished jewelry collections at this year’s JCK Las Vegas show.

“We went to Conclave with limited expectations, but were certainly hoping for a good show,” said company president Glenn Markman. “They [the retailers] acknowledged the diamond’s unique beauty, understood the multi-patented, proprietary cutting technique, and accepted our basic premise that, for the first time, diamonds could consistently be cut to maximize fire and sparkle without reducing brilliance.”
