Amipi Inc. to Host Buying Camp and Consult Lab

Amipi will host a “no bull” buying camp at JCK Las Vegas that will allow attendees to sell GIA-certified diamonds to the company at about 90 percent of the selling price of comparable diamonds in stock.

“We want to provide retailers an opportunity to maximize profits selling their unwanted diamonds,” said Amipi vice president Krish Jhaveri. “By limiting the spread between selling and buying retailer-supplied diamonds, we want to instill confidence in our customers that either way, our prices remain aggressive. No bull about it.”

Amipi will also lead a consult lab, in which jewelry industry experts will share their knowledge with retailers.

“We are committed to our few thousand customers, making sure we serve them not only in our policies and aggressive pricing but also in areas where they need the latest information to support their independent retail business,” Jhaveri said.

Israeli Diamond Industry Gears Up for JCK

Members of the Israeli diamond industry are gearing up for JCK Las Vegas, spurred by a recent uptick in the sale of Israeli diamonds in the United States.

According to the Israel Diamond Institute, the demand for polished diamonds in the U.S. surpassed the level prior to the worldwide economic crisis that began in 2008. Additionally, sales from the Israeli diamond industry to the American market increased by 5 percent in 2014.

One hundred Israeli diamond companies will be exhibiting at JCK, and about 50 will be showcasing at the Israel Diamond Institute’s national pavilion located in the Diamond Plaza.

RDS Diamonds has been exhibiting in the Israel Diamond Institute’s national pavilion since 2007.

“JCK is our advertising. It is the face of our business,” said company cofounder Itay Rabih. “With the uncertainty in the market, lots of people want to know the direction of the industry and will come to learn what’s happening. A lot of traffic means that we’ll have the opportunity to make new contacts and lots of sales.”

Rony Eitany of Regent Diamonds will be making his first appearance at JCK Las Vegas and has similar high hopes for the event. “I’m looking for independent high-end retailers and designers who are seeking special goods. JCK will be a good opportunity to meet some serious buyers,” he said.
