The Plumb Club to Introduce Jewelers Resource Center…

The Plumb Club has announced the impending debut of its Jewelers Resource Center, an immersive, virtual 3D environment part of its TPC-365 platform. A month-long celebration will start on March 2.

The Jewelers Resource Center will offer a comprehensive, searchable database of jewelry industry knowledge, offered in readable, auditory, or visual formats. The platform also allows visitors to stay up-to-date with industry headlines; see daily precious metals pricing; source qualified jewelry service providers; and view a library of jewelry tables, charts, articles, and links to help with daily business needs.

The kickoff event will be held on March 2 at 2 p.m. ET, to give visitors a virtual tour of the Jewelers Resource Center, followed by a presentation of “Is a Tsunami Coming: The Diamond Dilemma,” an educational session featuring a panel of Elliot Tannenbaum of Leo Schachter, Dave Meleski of The Richline Group, and Sue Rechner of WD Lab Grown Diamonds. The panel will discuss industry issues—as well as external issues—that spur volatility and affect diamond pricing.

Following the presentation, retail attendees will be given the opportunity to participate in a scavenger hunt, with multiple prizes from Dom Perignon champagne and Godiva chocolate to facilitated in-store sales training and an expert website analysis.

Zillion Awards 2022 Women in STEM Scholarship…

Jewelry insurance company Zillion has announced the winner of its 2022 Women in STEM scholarship, a fund established to empower women to enter into the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math by covering a portion of the tuition costs for a female student majoring in a STEM discipline at an accredited college or university in the United States.

Alisa Garcia, a computer science major at Purdue University, was selected as the 2022 recipient of the scholarship for her “undaunted ability to meet challenges, and for being a role model to young women interested in STEM,” according to a release.

“Zillion values curiosity and a courage to challenge the status quo, and Ms. Garcia has embraced these guiding principles,” said managing director Adam Black in a statement. “We are overjoyed to award this year’s Zillion Women in STEM Scholarship to Ms. Garcia, and look forward to watching her excel and apply her talents in computer science while continuing to mentor others.”
