Chris Ploof Rolls Out New Branding
Chris Ploof Designs has introduced a new logo and tagline, “Hand Forged in the USA,” on the brand’s website and marketing materials. All versions of the new logo include the tagline, and some also feature an image of an anvil, to symbolize the brand’s signature handcraftsmanship.
“I love to create with my hands,” company owner and designer Chris Ploof said in a statement. “Most people never get to see all that we do behind the scenes. We bring in raw metals, predominantly recycled, and literally forge them in fire with blow torches and manual presses, then pound them with hammers or cut them on lathes to make really distinctive patterns that we can turn into one-of-a-kind pieces of jewelry.
“It’s an unusual fusion of traditional blacksmithing with modern engineering. I wanted our branding to feature that proudly and prominently. Plus, we do it all with sustainable business practices in our solar-powered Massachusetts studio.”
India’s GSI Lab Reinforces Industry Leadership at Trade Show
At the IIJS Premiere event in Mumbai earlier this summer, Gemological Science International (GSI) showcased its role as a trusted laboratory partner for India’s jewelry supply chain. GSI’s booth at the trade show was marked by curated storytelling on natural diamonds, depicted through a number of mounted artworks.
GSI also highlighted the Assured Jeweller Certificate, which it awards to jewelry brands for excellence in quality and craftsmanship, as well as its proprietary light performance and “Hearts & Arrows” reports, demonstrating the lab’s role in helping retailers greater value for high-quality solitaire diamonds. Visitors to the GSI booth could also receive information about the lab’s educational division and certified training programs.
