Pantone may have gone neutral with its 2026 Color of the Year, but industry manufacturer Stuller went in a completely opposite direction, naming Signature Red as its pick.
Selected by the company’s color experts after studying global trends, cultural influence, and market insights, Signature Red will be featured throughout all of Stuller’s 2026 collections, content, and educational resources.
“In the world of precious stones, red represents one of the rarest colors found in nature,” Alissa Talbot, Stuller’s executive director of diamonds and gemstones, said in a statement. “Signature Red embodies the uniqueness of both the color and the wearer, reflecting a current trend of consumers desiring jewelry filled with meaning, symbolism, and individuality.”
On the heels of its color choice, Stuller announced its other top trends for 2026, five key design directions it predicts will shape the jewelry market this year.
Vintage vibes
We’re seeing the demand across the industry, and Stuller too cites a focus on vintage-inspired jewels, such as the company offers with engraving, decorative metalwork, and antique cuts and stone shapes. While we often think of Edwardian or art deco styles when we talk vintage, Stuller also points to “retro” eras, especially the glamor of the 1980s.
Flow and form
Soft, fluid lines, abstract shapes, and sculptural silhouettes will be paramount in Stuller’s inventory this year, in contrast with the structured styles of years past. If you’ve been to Las Vegas Jewelry Week in the past two or three years, you would have seen an ever-widening range of designs with curvy, organic vibes. Now the look is mainstream and ready to rock.
Storyteller
Personalized jewelry has never been more popular, as shoppers seek jewels that are an expression of who they are and what they care about. Stuller’s trend relies heavily on jewelry telling a story, not just through initials or birthstones but with meaningful dates and important symbols and shapes as well.
Max appeal
There’s been a lot of talk about minimalism falling out of favor, and Stuller’s prediction supports that. The company recommends going big for 2026, with statement jewelry in bold proportions, large carat weights, and metal-forward styles. We can get behind this, no problem.
High-impact hues
Given jewelry’s reliance on gemstones, color is always going to be a hit, but the way it’s worn can change. Stuller is looking to monochromatic styles featuring multi-stone arrangements, which would amplify the color and volume of a design (something that would make maximalists proud). The company has forecast that the big three gemstones—ruby, sapphire, and emerald—will dominate this year, along with tourmaline, which comes in an impressive range of color.
“As the jewelry industry continues to evolve, we want to make our customers the heroes by helping them stay connected to what their customers are responding to,” said Stuller’s chief merchandising, marketing, and sales officer, Taylor Burgess, in a statement. “Identifying trends gaining traction this year allows us to provide the insight and products jewelers need to curate collections that stand out.”
