Stephen Webster’s second collection of watches is shipping now. Fly by Night—a five-piece women’s collection by Swiss brand Tiret—features iconic Webster elements like diamond-dusted thorns. Other design components include enamel dials set with black diamonds, colorless diamonds, or amethysts, as well as stainless steel cases with anti-reflection sapphire crystals, and leather straps in black, white, or purple.
Webster teamed with Tiret for its “expertise in Swiss horology” and “the attention to detail of Tiret’s master craftsmen,” he tells JCK. Retail prices for the watches—which will be limited to 200 pieces—range from $12,000 to $37,500.
The high-profile British jeweler also told the media that he was “aware that watches are no longer the primary source for telling the time,” so his focus was on design.
“The crown has been developed with a stadium-like area surrounding a small automatic movement and dial,” he continued. “The stadium itself houses bejeweled thorn and night creatures which are iconic to the Fly by Night collection. It’s a contemporary jewelry watch collection with the beauty and edge synonymous with Stephen Webster.”
The watches also feature embedded crowns positioned on the inside of the case. Tiret’s case technology offers two independent dials, so Webster can convey his aesthetic without traditional design restrictions.
The last Webster watch line debuted was the Libertine Collection in 2007.
